As summer started I wanted to start working on my production company (Cloud 7 Productions). I believed that whilst I had free time I should really put some hours into productions that can all be put on YouTube. I knew that when I went back to university I would be filming a documentary so I wanted to get some experience of filming a music video.

To start of, I needed to find a client, this wasn't the hardest as I knew people who wanted to get a music video done. This production was taken on by me and my business partner Noli Cavolli. We spoke to Simz in last couple weeks of June and decided what song we were going to film as well as what area we would be shooting in. With this information Noli and I travelled down to Hackney to get a basic idea of the locations we would be using. In completing this we had a much better idea of what we can film and where we can film it. Once this was known we chose a shoot date which was July 5th 2017.

When we arrived at the location we began to start filming straight away as we had to get some establishing and filler shots. We filmed at a total of around 6 locations around Hackney which most went well. The only problem we encountered was that the talent was a little bit unprepared with the lyrics but after one or two attempts it all came back.

The editing process was the only lengthy part of this production but it was very fun. We used Adobe Premier Pro and it took all in all around 9 hours to edit. I used some basic camera shake effects as well as some speeding up and re-winding and some colour effects.

Overall, it took us around 3-4 hours to shoot the video and around 9 hours to edit. It was a really great experience, a couple things that could of been improved were more tracking shots and a wider equipment base. The video has been posted on YouTube but unfortunately the talent does not want to officially release it or give any promotion which does effect the views, but hopefully when it is released and I can share it on multi-media platforms it will become more popular.
